Updated: Mar 30, 2023

The Chinese zodiac, also known as Sheng Xiao or the twelve animal signs, is a classification scheme that assigns an animal to each year in a 12-year cycle. The 12 animals are:

Rat ,Ox ,Tiger ,Rabbit ,Dragon ,Snake ,Horse ,Goat (or Sheep) ,Monkey ,Rooster ,Dog ,Pig (or Boar)

Each animal is believed to have certain characteristics that are associated with people born in that year. For example, those born in the Year of the Rat are said to be quick-witted and resourceful, while those born in the Year of the Tiger are thought to be brave and confident. The Chinese zodiac is an important part of Chinese culture and is often used to determine compatibility in relationships, predict one's fortune, and make important life decisions.
